Individual Therapy

Stress is a part of our daily lives, and how we experience and respond to it makes all the difference. When you strengthen your awareness you can change your experience of stressful events. Overtime, you’ll begin to feel more comfortable in uncomfortable situations and be more present as you experience life.

I specialize in working with adults experiencing stress and anxiety (check out my other specialties here). My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-informed CBT (MiCBT) which is supplemented with tools from Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and biofeedback. Given my approach, I often provide clients with activities to practice between sessions. During therapy we’ll explore the roots of your stressors and collaboratively develop a treatment plan that’s right for you. You’ll learn and practice research-informed tools that can help address your experience of stress.

Please note that I am unable to provide clinical services to current or former students who have taken undergraduate and/or graduate courses from me. I also do not provide court-mandated treatment.

Therapy with Me

My intention is to provide you with a culturally responsive space to explore your lived experiences, intersectionality of your identities, and to discover more deeply who you are. Through therapy, we’ll work together to improve your awareness and change behavior patterns.

Exploring stressors and changing behavior patterns can be difficult. During a session I may ask you questions that challenge the way you view an event or situation. I may also ask you to try different stress management tools during a session, or give you activities to practice between sessions. If you have wearables (e.g., apple watch) we may also use them during a session to see how your body is impacted by a stress reduction tool that you’re using.

Deeply engaging in this work requires your personal commitment to be ready to change and willingness to look at and experience things differently.

All therapy sessions are conveniently provided online through telehealth (to learn more about telehealth, see FAQs). I’m licensed to provide therapy to individuals residing in Washington state.
