Individual Mindfulness
All non-therapeutic individual mindfulness sessions are based on Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) which is an empirically supported 8-week psycho-educational intervention that teaches mindfulness meditation as a health intervention.
Components of MBSR include:
Formal practices such as seated meditation or body scans.
Informal practices such as mindful walking or eating.
Gentle mindful movement; similar to stretching.
Practical inquiry to provide you with insight into the awareness of your daily life.
“Home practices” to strengthen and explore further what you’ve learned during your sessions.
Individual sessions are great if you’re uncomfortable with groups, cannot commit to an 8-week course, or prefer a more personalized approach. These non-therapeutic sessions are private, allow for flexibility, and can be designed around your needs.
