Nice to meet you; I’m delighted that you’re here.

Mei Ling Ellis, MPH, MSW, LICSW

I’ve had the privilege of working with clients since 2006. Over time, I began to notice that many clients were disconnected from their bodies as they navigated their lives, and I’ve found that this disconnect limited the therapeutic process. This lead me to supplement my clinical practice by becoming a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, certified biofeedback practitioner, and yoga instructor. These additional tools and techniques support the therapeutic process through the integration of the body, breath, and mind. This changes how we experience life and perceive stressful events.

I’ve taught mindfulness to high school students, stress management courses to college students, and have spoken to professional organizations about mindfulness, compassion fatigue, and burnout. I’ve worked in community mental health settings and spent most of my time as a provider at a regional hospital. While there, I saw patients experiencing: trauma; suicide; death and dying; psychiatric disorders; adjustment to chronic illness; child abuse and neglect; domestic violence; and addiction. My clinical practice is informed by over 20 years of working in high stress, fast paced environments. In addition to providing therapy, I’m also a strategic learning consultant and occasionally teach at local colleges and universities.
