BALANCE IN BREATH offers workshops, and public and private sessions focused on mindfulness and the physical practice of yoga (asana). Breath work is woven throughout all sessions.
Many definitions of “mindfulness” exist. When stripped down to its most basic form, BALANCE IN BREATH understands mindfulness as being present and experiencing what is happening around you.
Some have called this "paying attention on purpose."
When mindful tools are utilized, the body and mind learn how to work differently when faced with stressful situations or intense emotions. With practice, research suggests these tools may teach the brain to perceive an experience life differently, allowing more choice in how one reacts. Over time, mindfulness may also improve attention, emotional regulation, empathy, and perceived stress. Ultimately, improving your quality of life.
Yoga asana is the physical practice of movement and a lovely way to reconnect the body and mind. Three variations of Hatha yoga are offered and practiced at room temperature. They are restorative, yin, and hatha flow. Learn more about each variation by clicking on the button below.
Breath work focuses on two things, controlled breathing, and remembering how to breathe. BALANCE IN BREATH incorporates breath work into both mindfulness and yoga asana. Different techniques are taught to slow and deepen the breath which accesses the parasympathetic nervous system, and aids in calming the body and soothing the mind. Here, one learns how to breath with the full body.
